Inventory data Vensu Grotto King Ludwig II of Bavaria in the Linderhof Palace Park
The data has been collected for 12 years to accompany building archeology and restoration. It
comes a multisensor process with Z+F laser scanner and photogrammetric recordings
for use.

Structures

illustrated architecture began in 2002 with the 3D digitization of buildings to create deformation-friendly architectural plans and mapping documents for monument preservation. In this area, we cover all plan content from levels II to V according to “Eckstein”, create 3D models for VR applications and produce templates for 3D printing of supporting and supplementary parts.
In addition to numerous smaller objects, we worked on all of Ludwig II's palaces in Bavaria and recorded the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Together with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) Robotics and Mechatronics Center in Oberpfaffenhofen, the MuSe Bayreuth project (Multisensor Multi Sclae 3D capture of the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth) from 2013 to 2015 included a special approach to recording baroque state rooms developed with their architecture-related works of art and furniture.

Example models

3D models based on triangles are immediately clear and are well suited for communicating with customers. They can be implemented in different levels for VR applications and made directly accessible to a wider audience.

Turmzwiebel Schloss Seehof

We capture complex roof trusses completely in 3D with a resolution of 3mm in order to create extensive documents for the woodwork and structural planning.

Recordings 2018

Environmental models Neuschwanstein

High-resolution environmental models of important buildings from a combination of drone flights, terrestrial photogrammetry and laser scanning are suitable for planning and visualizing construction projects.

Recordings 2017

Garden hall of the Würzburg Residence

The Garden Hall of the Würzburg Residence was chosen for the “Corpus of Baroque Ceiling Paintings in Germany”.

Recordings 2017

Museum

It is only a small step from Baroque spatial works of art to the 3D digitization of museum objects and exhibitions. The large image shows a section of the approximately 3,500 Chinese characters from the Typographia Sinica (Link) of the Berlin State Library. An automated process with a multi-camera approach was chosen to digitize all types from all sides. Within 8 days, around 80,000 high-resolution images were captured as a basis for the 3D evaluation.

Jerusalem

Digital backup of historical architectural models in the Paulushaus in Jerusalem. The models were made by K. Schick in the 19th century. Work for the German Evangelical Institute for Research on the Holy Land in Jerusalem.

Recording: 2019.

Bavarian National Museum

Wooden model of Munich, made by master wood turner Jacob Sandtner around 1580; can be seen today in the Bavarian National Museum. Digitalization for the TU Munich (Chair of Building Research) in 2016.
Preparation as a digital object for the Bavarian State Exhibition 2020

Monks' House Museum Goslar

Digital memory for the Kaiserring exhibitions. During the first Corona lockdown, we planned to move our place of work and life from the outskirts of Berlin to Goslar. The digital image of the exhibition “Goslar from here” by the artist Gerd Winner was created spontaneously in collaboration with the museum. This will create a long-term digital memory of the Kaiserring exhibitions starting in 2020/2021.

Technology

In collaboration with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), we have been involved in the development of numerous 3D camera systems for robotics and aviation for almost two decades. This also includes some special 3D systems that were developed for mining surveying by Deutsche Montan Technologie (DMT).
The large picture shows a section of the X61 train set from Alstom. Recorded for the company Nextrail in a combination of laser scanning and photogrammetry with a resolution of 0.2 to 2mm.
Summer 2021.

Infrastructure

Using special flight arrangements, infrastructure systems can be captured with a single 50MP camera from all common ultralight aircraft without complex aerial photography equipment.

Structures

(The Venus Grotto is a backdrop structure from the 19th century. The supporting structure for the wire plaster shell rests in some places on cast iron columns that are hidden in stalactites and rock needles. The necessary improvement of these columns requires extensive measurements for restoration and statics.
Recordings have been ongoing since 2012.

Underground surveying

Development and testing of recording systems for Ruhrkohle AG and DMT together with DLR. System adaptation and 3D capture in various underground structures.
